I'd like to bring it down, as i've had a bad lonely day (more so than usual) and this song stopped me doing something drasically stupid

which bit? the drasticlly stupid, or the immense mind numbing loneliness i go through each and every day, having to put on a fake smile to show the shell of who i am is "Happy" because i'm "Expected" To be happy?

lets start with the first part, the immensly stupid bit

pretty much self explanitory, i'm "The friend" The guy everyone goes to for support and moral problems, the one everyone knows is there and always will be there. I'm the one that is "Expected" to live to survive, to smile and be happy. Nothign can be wrong with me, but when there is its just "Oh you'll live, you'll be fine" Etc so the shell of a guy i once was, the smile on my face is just to shut them up because god forbid they actually have to deal with the numbing lonliness that i go through each day

Yes and it's eerie how much I can relate. But after as while, you realize that it's easier to find little things in life that help you get through the day. Things that make you happy to still be here, trust me, earlier this year I was a manic-depressive, almost schizophrenic, and I wanted to die. I was "that guy", the support guy. But if you hang in there, it all comes back to you in the end. Now I have some great friends, am in a band, have an amazing girlfriend (which is surprising as I'm pretty ugly, so it's not like she's only with me for looks, she likes me because I'm supportive and love her, and for that she does find me cute, and there is a girl out there like that for you). Hang in there Hobo, it may suck bad now, but it does get better, even when it doesn't seem like it. Put yourself out there, let people know how you feel and put yourself out there, and enjoy the little things in life. Trust me, it works wonders
